Whether it be for area rugs or wall-to-wall textile floor coverings, three-dimensional textured designs or intricate patterns with subtle colour gradation, handtufted is the most flexible handmade technique offering an impressive level of freedom. Size, shape, scale, colour, construction, yarn type, density, pile weight, pile height, finishing techniques; each component of handtufted can be combined and adapted to suit any design or project, meaning that if a design can be envisioned, it can be made.

The art of handknotting is an age-old technique, which has been perfected over centuries. Composed of many thousand individual knots, the yarn is tightly knotted by hand around the warp and weft of the rug. Different knotting techniques will affect the pile height and alter the surface texture, allowing for either an intricate or coarse finish. The result is a design that offers quality and durability.

Similar to handknotting, this technique is practised by skilled weavers in Nepal. Crafted on a loom, our expert craftspeople use a shuttle, which carries the weft thread while weaving. This tool allows the weavers to be quick, lending itself well to our plain and small-scale pattern designs. These rugs are modestly priced, versatile and provide a reliable and enduring finish.

Our Woven Jacquard combines the traditional Axminster weaving technique with the productivity of an innovative technology, resulting in high-speed electronic looms. This technique offers fast production times, reduced waste, infinite scale patterns, 16 different colours per design, different yarn types, unlimited custom and bespoke designs, it also means that there is no minimum quantity per design and no need for a design repeat. It’s ideal for contract projects which are subject to budget constraints, but still require high-end design and are expected to meet high standards.

Our capabilities also extend into a range of mechanised processes, including Robotufted and Passtufted. Robotufed allows for considerable design flexibility, enabling large quantities of premium area rugs to be produced in record time, ideal for hospitality, corporate and commercial environments. Passtufted excels in providing made-to-measure luxury carpets, through utilising a variety of yarns and textures this technique can adapt for any space, making it perfect for residential, hotel suites, yachts and luxury retail spaces.
